We all certainly remember the time when there were no ringtones and cell phones at all. Then they were invented, these small portable phones, which had no fixed physical place, but with which you could make calls from anywhere. Back then cell phones were the size of a brick, the display was just six square centimeters and there were no “polyphonic” like words.
Meanwhile, however, phones were becoming multi-functional, you could always make high-resolution photos, record videos, use the Internet, play Tetris or NFS games, and, of course, listen to the music.
And also the ringtones for cell phones have changed. Instead of the initial simple monophonic melodies nowadays you can download the current chart hit, there are even video ring tones, when music video can be seen while ringing.
A new market was born: providers like Jamba are entered in time and you can find now services such as ringtones, mobile games, ringback tones, wallpapers, animated logos and MMS greeting cards downloadable by few clicks, and send all this mobile content to your friends without any troubles.
Often it is enough to enter your cell number or send an SMS to the number, that you can find in online advertising and you are the proud owner of a new ringtone. These offers are mostly in conjunction with a subscription where you can have weekly new songs, games and logos sent directly to your cell phone.
You can also choose whether you want to have polyphonic ringtones, realtones, or video, depending on what your own phone supports. But Realtones are aligning themselves against the “competition” to enforce, since they are of better quality and are just like the real song to listen. However, there are also cell phones, which can play the songs in MP3 format, e.g. in the same quality as songs on the PC or on CDs.
But ring tones do not always are the real songs, they are other, often funny, noises or cries. An example is when the officer in the Army-style is screaming to put the phone off. With the newer phones, it is also possible, even to put anything recorded as audio that you can use then as a ringtone.
